The school’s GCSE results are its strongest in the last decade, marking five consecutive years of improvement. The 2026 cohort achieved an Attainment 8 score of 53.08, up from 50.8 in 2025, with students achieving an average grade of 5.5 across all subjects.

Among the highlights, 60% of students achieved Grade 5 or above in both English and Mathematics, while 78% achieved Grade 4 or above in both subjects. Almost 30% of all grades were awarded at Grade 9-7, with 70% of all grades at Grade 5 or above.

Waingels Sixth Form students also achieved record numbers of top grades, with one in four results awarded at A or A* and half of all grades at A*-B. One in five students secured the AAB benchmark, almost double the proportion achieved in 2025.

Students are now progressing to leading universities and prestigious degree apprenticeships, with destinations including Bristol, Manchester, Southampton, Nottingham, Exeter, Bath and Surrey, as well as employers such as GlaxoSmithKline and JMM.
