In 2024, the school celebrated its fortieth anniversary, marking four decades of providing children with an excellent, rounded education and playing an important role within the local community.
The school community is diverse and reflects the area it serves, bringing a wealth of experiences, cultures and perspectives to school life. Hawkedon's motto, Belong, Be Kind, Achieve, reflects its commitment to creating a welcoming environment where every child feels valued and supported. Staff work closely with pupils and families to foster a strong sense of community and belonging.
Hawkedon's vision is for children to develop into confident, caring, lifelong learners and staff work hard to provide the opportunities needed to fulfil that vision. As a values-based school, Hawkedon encourages children to reflect on their behaviour and values, and the impact they can have on their family, school and community. Many of our children aspire to attend grammar school as their next step in education, others choose from the excellent secondary schools in the local area, and all children leave us exceptionally well-equipped for the next stage in their school careers.
Hawkedon’s vision is for children to develop into confident, caring, lifelong learners and to ensure that we provide all opportunities possible.
At Hawkedon Primary School, we recognise the importance of working collaboratively with other schools. We have long worked in informal partnerships with local colleagues and these relationships have helped us develop both educationally and operationally. Joining the Orchard Learning Alliance as a founding member, was an exciting step, and we believe it will enable our school to build on its strong foundations into its next forty years and beyond.
Being part of the Orchard Learning Alliance enables us to work alongside schools that share our commitment to providing the very best education for children. Through collaboration, professional networks and the sharing of expertise, staff are able to learn from one another and strengthen practice across the Trust.
We value being part of a family of schools while remaining firmly rooted in the community we have served for more than 40 years.
