The school opened in 1986 and today serves around 460 pupils. Guided by its motto,"Inspiring the Future", Hillside is committed to helping children become proud, active citizens who are ready to make a positive contribution to the world around them.
The school's values are at the heart of everything it does. Hillside is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive and caring environment where everyone is supported to flourish and succeed. Whilst having high expectations for all, the school works hard to develop and nurture the whole child, inspiring and encouraging children to achieve their highest potential.
Children and families join Hillside from all over the world, creating a diverse and welcoming community. The staff are committed to providing high-quality learning opportunities and experiences, including a wide range of clubs and sporting competitions. Excellent teaching and a carefully designed curriculum equip pupils with the knowledge and skills needed for future challenges and lifelong learning.
It is the school's ambition for children to learn to read as early as possible, opening the door to the wider curriculum and helping them develop both a love of reading and an understanding of the world around them.
As a school proud of its community, achievements, outcomes and values, it was important for Hillside to join a like-minded educational trust. By becoming part of the Orchard Learning Alliance, the school is able to work alongside other schools that share its commitment to a holistic and inclusive approach to education.
Through the Orchard Learning Alliance, Hillside benefits from opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the Trust, share expertise and learn from best practice. This collaborative approach supports the school's continued development while helping to improve outcomes for pupils and build on the successes already achieved.
